8 Days Tours From Marrakech To Tangier Via Chafchauen

Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains –Ait Benhaddou-Ourzazate-Boumalene de Dades 310km

Departure from Marrakech in the morning, crossing High Atlas mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka (2260m), to reach Ait Benhaddou village the largest Kasbah in Morocco. Built by the last Berber chieftain El Glaoui Et-Hami in the late 19th century, it is now a UNESCO matrimonial historical site, which today still houses many Glaoui family members. Lunch by the Kasbah and continue to the Dades Gorge through the road of “the Thousand Kasbahs”, which offers many fine photo opportunities of nature and people. Your will stop will be at Skoura in the birds valley to see the standing 18th century Kasbah of Ameridhil, we’ll get to Kalaat Mgouna - famous for roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May then to Boumalene de Dades.where we will spend the first night.Morocco Right Tours team has many more stops along the way to allow the clients to take photos whenever and wherever they think they are interesting.

Day 2: Boumalene de Dades-Toudra Gorges-Alnif-Tazoualait-Ramlia Village 250 kms

After breakfast, we will leave Boumalene du Dades for Ramlia, a hidden Berber village in the south of Morocco. We’ll pass through the village of Tinghir, then north to visit Toudgha Gorges with its wonderful landscapes.Coming back on the same road south to Alnif, then through Tazoulate, Fzou, Hi Fougani. We’ll have a picnic on route before reaching our destination of Ramlia where we will have chance to see and meet local people and learn about a very interesting irrigation system that makes people changes from their nomadic lifestyle to building a small village and oasis in the middle of desert spending the night in a small Berber guest house, aghbalouramlia guesthouse

Day 3: Ramlia Village-Ouzina-Taouz- Merzouga-camel ride and overnight in a luxury camp.

After breakfast we’ll set off for Erg Chebbi, Merzouga, enjoying the desert landscapes, and passing through the grave stones of Taouz. We will then have an opportunity to hear the Gnawa music of Khamlia where we will have lunch in a small restaurant owned by a Gnawi person. After lunch we make our way to Merzouga to meet the camels joining us on our trek. The camels take us to a luxury desert camp belong to a nomadic family in the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. The erg chebbi is about 25 kms long and 5 to 8 km wide it is also reputed as the highest sand dunes in North Africa. It is a unique and diverse environment. The camel trek takes about 1hr 10 min from the Merzouga village to the camp where we continue the spirit of the nomadic Berber lifestyle. The luxury desert is a comfortable tents with private bathroom inside, restaurant and kitchen. The tents are well equipped and we provide mattresses, blankets, and cushions. After dinner we gather round the fire and enjoy the desert night perhaps with traditional Berber drum.

Day 4: Merzouga - Errachidia - Midelt - Cedar Forest - Ifran - Fes 467km

Around one hour before the sunrise, you ‘ll be informed to get up to see the sun rise in the nearby dunes before having breakfast and showering in the camp. On the way back, there is the option to go back by camel or by jeep to the center of Merzouga village before driving to Fez.On the way to Fez, you ‘’ll pass through Ziz Valley, Errachidia, Midelt. Stop for lunch in Midelt before we continue to Azrou to see macaque apes and cedar forest. Afterwards we will continue to Fez via Ifrane. Overnight in a riad or hotel.

Day 5: Fes Sightseeing

After breakfast, you will be met with a local guide with whom you will start your city tour by visiting first the outside part of the Medina ( old city ) including The Royal Palace Gate, the Jewish Quarter ”Mellah ” – dates back to 14th Century. You will also visit the ceramics Cooperative to see traditional Moroccan crafts. Afterwards, you will cover the most important sites inside the medina with a cultural and historical interest including the superb architectural masterpiece of Bou Inania Medersa, Blue gate, the Karaouiyine Mosque, The Big Chouara Tanneries , Medersa Seffarin where people work on metal and make beautiful ( lamps , teapots..) and other decorated architectural masterpieces like Attarin Medersa and the Najarian Fountain. In the afternoon, we will take you to the tombs of Merenids to admire a beautiful panoramic view of the medina. Overnight in a Riad or a hotel.

Day 6-Fez-Volubilis-Chafchauen:

Departing after breakfast heading to Chefchauen.The first stop is Volubilis, the Roman ruines,then north enjoying the landscapes of big riff mountains, forests, lakes and streams of water. Especially in the summer is a destination that is used to escape the heat of the hot summers of the desert.It is possible to have some lunch or snack in one of the restaurants along the way. When you arrive to Chafchauen, you may like have an early evening walking before heading to your riad/hotel for the night.

Day 7:Chafchauen Sightseeing Tour:

After breakfast, we will start exploring the blue city of chafchauen . It is a small charming, clean and fresh town. You’ll stroll around the old Medina with its old renovated kasbah, the square at the heart of the town is really an ideal place to relax. With its steep, narrow cobbled streets and whitewashed walls, blue doors, windows and mountains as a backdrop makes from Chafchaouen a wonderful place for fascinating pictures. After lunch, you will see the natural spring water of Ras Elma. Unlike other parts of Morocco, this town was occupied by Spain. Therefore, there is much influence of the Spanish and Moorish culture. You will have an opportunity to meet with locals, wander in the markets and enjoy this amazing town. Overnight in a Riad.

Day 8:Chafchauen-Tangier port/Airport:

After breakfast in your riad, we start the day towards Tangier port or airport. North Morocco is totally different from the south as the north has European features; therefore,Morocco is a combination of Amazigh,Arab,Jewish and Andalousian cultures.Arriving at the port or airport, our driver/guide will assist you with your lugguage to your next distination.
